DESCRIPTION:

and historic Craven County, population 96,000 is seeking qualified
applicants for the position of Local Health Director. New
Bern is located at the juncture of the Neuse and Trent Rivers
and is located 45 minutes from the Crystal Coast. The
health department serves a county with a diversified range
of services with a staff of 155 and a budget of $9,000,000.
This position involves management at an advanced level of expertise
to maximize services in the areas of Environmental Health,
Home Health and Hospice, Dental, Pediatric Primary Care,
Pre-natal Care, Family Planning, WIC and Nutrition, Health
Promotion, Communicable Disease and Animal Control. The
Local Health Director reports to the Board of Health and works
within the policies and procedures of the Board of Commissioners.
