Recipient of the 2011 Public
Health Partner Award
The Public
Health Partners Award is awarded to recognize organizations,
businesses, and professional associations that have made
significant contributions to the advancement and promotion
of public health in North Carolina.
The Care
Clinic, Inc. in Fayetteville, NC in the 2011 NCALHD Public
Health Partners Award winner. In 2009, the Cumberland County
health department moved into its new location. The Care Clinic
opened its doors to the Health Department staff and clients
in order to prevent disruption of mandated services such
as epidemiology and communicable disease services. With limited
resources, The Care Clinic welcomed the clients to their
facilities and shared their space and resources with the
health department.
The Care
Clinic played a vital role in the implementation of Cumberland
HealthNet. Through the Executive Director, The Care Clinic
was represented in HealthNet's community organizations working
to improve healthcare for the uninsured residents of Cumberland
County.
The CARE
Clinic provides free quality health care to eligible uninsured,
low income adults who live in Cumberland County. The Clinic
relies entirely on the generosity of volunteers, donors,
grants from foundations and annual fund raising events so
that they can continue to provide health care services in
the community. Congratulations to The Care Clinic as the
NCALHD Public Health Partner of the Year Recipient. |
